This Dallas senior boy session was in Parker, just down from Southfork in Parker.
Every time I'm in that part of town, I laugh because Southfork, where the TV show, Dallas, was filmed, is so far away from the actual city of Dallas.
Will is a musician, so we wanted to feature his ukulele and his viola. I worked to get some up-close shots and some far away shots. We also wanted to be sure to get some without the instruments.
Our original session had been scheduled when it was over a hundred degrees outside, but we re-scheduled. I was really glad we did. Besides the wind, which was a little gusty at times, the weather was perfect. We got some really beautiful light through the trees during the session. This location features an old barn, some beautiful trees, tall grass, and, this time, we even had hay bales.
A lot of times, boys don't want to change clothing, which is totally fine. By moving around during the photo shoot, we can get lots of different looks, even with the same clothing. I have two boys, myself, so I totally get how to work with boys. Most of them don't want anything fussy. It's mostly for the moms, anyway. And I encourage senior boys to get senior portraits done for their moms.
Moms want to have beautiful images, too!
Are you a Mom of a senior boy? Don't you think you deserve some beautiful portraits of your son? Then schedule his appointment today. I promise to be sensitive to him and accommodate what he wants and what you want in the session. I've photographed golfers on golf courses, a baseball player on his school's baseball field, even a hockey player in his gear at the park. Super fun! There are lots of ways to incorporate your son's activities and interests.
