Golfer senior pictures are a lot of fun.
My husband, who is my assistant, is an avid golfer, which is really helpful because he knows the etiquette and where to go. And - bonus! - he drove our golf cart so I could look around (and not make a fool of myself driving a golf cart for the first time in front of my clients).
The weather was perfect with a slight breeze and temperatures in the 70's.
We did some shots out on the actual course. Here is one of my favorites:
The cart path intersected the street and, as we crossed, I noticed a lovely bridge running along the sidewalk. This happened just as some of the most beautiful light of the day happened - the so-called "golden hour".
In case you haven't noticed, I love bridges, and use them often in my senior portraits. I was thinking about the reasons why I love them so much. One reason I love them is because they are often interesting, architecturally. They often add a bit of texture to a sidewalk or grassy area. The other reason, though, is symbolic. This senior year is a time of transition. It's the part in between being a child and being out on their own. It's the bridge, in other words.
Much of the time, the boys just don't know what to expect and say they are there for Mom, which is really sweet. But I could tell Andrew really enjoyed being out on the course, even though he wasn't playing. He appeared happy and relaxed with his feet on the green and his hands on the golf club. It made me happy to be able to be a part of that. So boys can definitely have fun doing their senior portraits, even if they need a little coaxing to get the process started.
I have two boys of my own, so as I tell my clients, "I know all about boys!".
I was able to do the order session in less than a week at the family's home. Ordering sessions are fun and relaxed. I have a systematic method of going through everything and helping the family narrow down their choices so they can choose portraits, products, and sizes that meet their needs.
The class of 2015 is about to graduate. And, before you know it, the class of 2016 will start their senior years. Have a Class of 2016 student? Give me a call and let's talk about how to best commemorate the year. Thanks for reading!
