Who Can Come To The Senior Photography Session?
Most of the time, the Mom comes to the child's senior photography session. It's a special time for the Mom because she stands back and watches everything unfold. Her child is having a great time and looks fabulous and everyone is happy.
During the in-home consultation, I talk to the Mom about her interest in having a couple of portraits done with her child. Sometimes, the answer is a definite "no way", but sometimes, her eyes light up as she thinks about how special being in a couple of senior portraits would be. It does not take away from the session at all. In fact, I think it adds a special spark to it. So, if the Mom is interested, I tell her to come dressed for it. It's always a delight when she does!

Another possibility is bringing a family pet. This can also be something really fun to do for a couple of shots. Now, I wouldn't recommend bringing a cat. I am a cat person and love cats, but you know what I'm talking about. Cats don't travel well and they get kind of freaked out when they are away from their normal surroundings.
This senior wanted to bring her beloved dog. It was fun to get a few portraits of her and her dog. And it turned out to be the one they chose for their wall portrait:
The possibilities are endless. Can she bring her best friend? Of course!Or her boyfriend? Yes, absolutely. The only requirement is that a parent still needs to be there. But I work quickly and can easily do a few portraits with Mom, a boyfriend, a best friend, or a pet. Be sure to mention it at your in-home consultation.
